Different types of influencers:
Nano influencers have between 1,000 and 10,000 followers.
The main reason for collaborating with nano influencers is their authenticity. Typically, brand partnerships are not the primary source of income for nano influencers. Their content tends to be more relatable to their followers than a celebrity influencer, resulting in higher engagement and ROI.
Micro influencers have between 10,000 and 50,000 followers.
When you are at this level, your greatest asset is your relatability, which is inherently tied to your credibility. Brands working with small influencers have found that sponsored content often produces the best overall engagement due to the relatability and authenticity of the content created by these influencers.
Mid-tier (Macro) influencers have between 50,000 and 500,000 followers.
Mid-level influencers are trendsetters. As this is the broadest level, many mid-level influencers will permanently stay in this range, and the best users will be savvy enough to create branded content that completes the image.
Premium/Macro influencers have between 500,000 and 1,000,000 followers.
This group typically has similar posts as mid-tier influencers and the same engagement rate but with a larger general audience.
Celebrity/Mega influencers have over 1,000,000 followers.
When people think of influencers, they imagine celebrities and famous tv and internet personalities. They are the best-known influencer for most of the population, and, in many cases, being an influencer is not their primary identity or occupation. Famous influencers often start as actors, athletes, musicians, or representatives of prominent companies and acquire brand partnerships through their agencies.
